The New Nature Foundation has taken a groundbreaking approach to protect the endangered Ashy Red Colobus monkey (Piliocolobus tephrosceles), a species native to Uganda’s Kibale National Park.

Recognizing the critical fuel-wood crisis that not only affects local communities but also threatens wildlife, the foundation has implemented a multifaceted strategy that combines innovation and sustainability.

Their comprehensive plan includes the promotion of energy-efficient stoves, the production of biomass briquettes, and the cultivation of firewood crops, all while emphasizing extensive education and community engagement. By utilizing blended learning techniques, they inspire individuals to embrace a lifestyle that harmonizes with nature, empowering Ugandans to become active participants in creating sustainable solutions.

In a bid to amplify their message and reach a broader audience, the New Nature Foundation allocated a portion of the MBZF grant to produce a compelling short film.
